SWIMMERS in Wyre Forest are being asked to make a splash in a Swimathon to support Kemp Hospice’s Children’s Appeal.

The Sebastian Coe Club in Bewdley is hosting the 12-hour Swimathon on Sunday, January 27, to help raise funds to support bereaved children and young people in Wyre Forest and surrounding areas.

The event has been designed to enable participants to swim as much or as little as they feel comfortable with to raise money for Kemp for Kids.

Swimming slots of five, 10, 15 or 30 minutes are available as well as a full hour.

Kemp for Kids is a new service launched by Kemp Hospice to make practical and emotional support available for every bereaved child and young person in the area.

Participants in the Swimathon are also being asked to encourage their clubs, groups, workplaces or friends to get involved.

The Sebastian Coe Club also raised money for Kemp for Kids at the centre’s Christmas party with a raffle.

The event raised more than £300 to help children in the community cope with bereavement.
