A FIFTEEN-year-old boy was threatened by a cyclist armed with a knife in an attempted robbery in Stourport.

The incident happened at about 9.30pm on Thursday when the boy saw a young male on a BMX bike as he was walking home along Minster Road.

As he turned into Prospect Road, the cyclist stopped beside the boy and threatened him with a knife, telling him to empty his pockets.

The boy turned out his pockets but had nothing in them, so the cyclist rode off.

The offender is described as white, aged between 17 and 19 and was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top with a dark-coloured scarf over his mouth.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Melissa Cox, said: "We are eager to hear from anyone who saw it happen or thinks they may have seen this youth in the area."

Witnesses or anyone with information should call DC Cox at Kidderminster Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the incident reference 129-N-010213, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
