SPEAKERS, including the Chaplain to Manchester United FC, will be giving talks at Kidderminster churches during lent.

A series of talks called What the Resurrection Means To Me, will be held on four consecutive Wednesdays at Churches in the town.

The events will start on February 27 when Christian music composer, Roger Jones, will speak at St Ambrose Church, in Birmingham Road.

Rev Keith Judson, chairman of Churches Together in Worcestershire, will be at Holy Innocents on Stourport Road on March 6, while the Rt Rev David Walker, Bishop of Dudley, will give a talk at Kidderminster Baptist the following week.

Concluding the talks on March 20 at Trinity Methodist Church, will be Rev John Boyers, who has been the chaplain to Manchester United FC since 1992. All the talks will start at 7.30pm.

Rev Simon Gudger, minister at Kidderminster Baptist Church, said: “This is such an exciting opportunity for people in our town to hear how the Easter story relates to real people.

“For the church, Easter is all about hope despite our circumstances and we are looking forward to hearing how this hope has influenced our key speakers’ situations.

“There is something for everyone and we encourage people from all over our town to come together and share in what will be some fascinating and challenging evenings.”
