Charlie loses brave battle

Brave youngster: Charlie Harris-Beard Brave youngster: Charlie Harris-Beard

A KIDDERMINSTER two-year-old has lost his brave battle with leukaemia.

The parents of Charlie Harris-Beard announced on twitter: “Heaven gained another angel today as our little SOLDIER CHARLES JOSEPH HARRIS-BEARD peacefully passed away 14:04 #restinpeacelittlesoldier”.

He was first diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia on Easter Sunday, 2011 but returned home from hospital in January, 2012, following a successful bone marrow transplant using an umbilical cord.

But in November last year he was given just weeks to live after test results revealed his cancer had returned.

The youngster has captured hearts around the world, with more than 44,000 friends on the facebook page Help save Baby Charlie Harris - Beard and 3,829 followers on twitter.
