HUNDREDS of balloons were released into the sky at a Kidderminster park in memory of brave Charlie Harris-Beard.

The balloons were let off at St George’s Park on Saturday to honour the two-year-old who lost his battle against leukaemia.

Some of the proceeds from the sale of the balloons will go to Charlie’s charity Cords4life, set up by his parents Joe Beard and Fiona Harris to raise awareness of umbilical cord donations.

Di Humphreys, who was at the event, said: “It was a honour and a pleasure to be part of the journey of an incredible little boy who touched the hearts of the nation.

"St George’s Park was lit up will love and a round of applause was held for not only Charlie but his parents Joe and Fiona and also Ellie his brave big sister.”
