Fairtrade fashion show to take place in Stourport

STOURPORT Town Fairtrade Group will be hosting a fashion show with a difference to promote ethical and responsibly-produced clothing.

The fashion show, which will be held at Stouport High School, will see models strutting down the catwalk in clothing and accessories from a Fairtrade shop in Leicestershire next Thursday.

Shop owner Mandy McIntosh is a supporter of Fairtrade producers in developing countries who look for self-sufficiency rather than aid.

She has recently returned from a tour of Nepal, Thailand and India on behalf of Tearfund, a relief and development charity, and runs the shop Fair2All, in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

The show will start at 7.30pm and people will have an opportunity to preview the clothes, which are not generally seen in the high street, from 6.30pm.

Tickets are £5 and available from Stourport businesses including Blossoms Tea Shop, Olivaceous Deli, Courtyard Cafe, the coffee shop in the Co-operative and AD Gustum Restaurant.
