Man accused of murdering wife refused bail

A Kidderminster man accused of murdering his wife has been refused bail.

Mr Justice Flaux decided after a 35-minute preliminary hearing at Worcester Crown Court that 34-year-old Evans, of Stoney Lane, should stay in custody before a trial in September.

Evans is charged with the murder of Louise Evans, 32-year-old mother-of-three, on July 10 last year. She was found dead at the foot of the stairs at their home.

Evans will be asked to enter a plea at a hearing on June 14. The trial is estimated to last four weeks.
