THE race is on to become The Shuttle’s biggest loser.

All eight of our readers who won our competition to lose weight with Kidderminster’s 24/7 Fitness centre are shedding the pounds in a bid to change their lives.

They have started 2013 by taking part in a training schedule of five fitness sessions a week and are also keeping up a new healthy eating regime.

Some have even taken it on themselves to go to the fitness centre in Stourport Road twice a day and are also joining in some of the exercise classes.

Jemma Palmer, from 24/7 Fitness said: “We have seen a big difference in their attitude and confidence to training. They are determined to see the challenge through which is fantastic to see.

“All those taking part have their assigned personal trainer on call so whenever they need motivation, we are there to help and give support.

“They are really pushing themselves to the limit.”

One of the participants was 19st when the competition started and he reduced his weight to 17st 12lbs in the first three weeks.

Jemma said: “Another burned 17,000 calories in one week and everyone is losing a considerable number of pounds. If they keep this up they will all reach their target weight at the end of the eight weeks.”
