Power cut delays start of Wyre Forest planning meeting

A POWER cut at Wyre Forest District Council’s headquarters has delayed the start of tonight’s planning committee meeting, which will now take place at Kidderminster Town Hall.

The meeting will now start at 6.30pm - half an hour later than scheduled - and will be held at the Corn Exchange in Kidderminster Town Hall.

The extra half an hour will give members of the public and councillors extra time to travel to Kidderminster town centre from Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, where it was planned to be held.

Conservative councillor, council leader John Campion, said: “We have been told by the electricity company the electricity won’t be on again for about an hour.

“We did not want to risk not having the meeting so we are taking the precaution by moving it to the town hall.”

The council had planned to webcast the event but will now not be able to. The Shuttle will be live tweeting from the meeting at twitter.com/ksshuttle

It's not that pesky motion sensor again is it? When will our Cllrs learn that they have to move to stop the sensor from doing it's job.

I suppose it a bit chilly in those new offices with that cockamamie ground source heating.
All the staff's personal electric heaters must cause quite a heavy loading on the electricity supply.

So no backup systems then?

More good planning eh?

Just goes from bad to worse!

I dread to think what the new leisure centre will ultimately look like or (not) be capable of!!

What a bunch of jokers.
