A FANCY dress fundraising evening in Wolverley will take place for three charities.
Organiser Tara Jenks, 25, of Kidderminster, is holding the Trilogy event for Age UK, Cancer Research UK and Reaching Out, a Kidderminster-based charity helping elderly people who have had strokes.
She said: “One of my friends experienced cancer with her mum. I was made aware of it more through my friend so she was my inspiration.
“I long to alleviate the suffering of others, and always believe, the positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”
Miss Jenks is appealing for volunteers to help at the event which will take place at Wolverley Social Club at Saturday, July 27.
From 6pm to 8.30pm there will be outdoor activities including stalls, a bouncy castle and face painting and from 9pm to 11pm there will be a disco inside the club.
Miss Jenks is encouraging everyone to wear fancy dress and there will be a prizes for the best dressed adult and child.
She added: “The opportunity was there to hold the event. I had the time, I had the means and I’ve got a lot of family and friends who support me.”
Local businesses have supported the event by providing raffle prizes including Tesco, West Midland Safari Park, Glades Leisure Centre and Cadbury World. Indian Style in Kidderminster provided funding for leaflets and equipment.
She is hoping to raise £1,000 which she will split between the three charities. Tickets cost £8 for adults, £5 for children and £22 for a family ticket and are available from starmaids.co.uk/trilogyfundraiser
Anyone who can help at the event should call Miss Jenks on 07546 105359.
