6:30am Thursday 22nd August 2013 in Local
A CHARITY fun day will be held at a Kidderminster hotel to raise money and awareness for five charities.
The fun day will be held by Engage4Life, part of the National Citizenship Service programme, and will take place at the Gainsborough Hotel on Saturday.
The five charities benefitting from the fun day will be the Meningitis Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, the Edwards Trust which supports bereaved or seriously ill children, young cardiac arrest charity Cry and the Lullaby Trust which works to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy.
There will be a family fete during the day from 11am to 5pm, with a number of stalls and a bouncy castle. In the evening, there will be a live music festival from 5pm to 11pm.
The National Citizenship Service is an opportunity for young people between 15 and 17 years old to build new skills, face new challenges and make new friends.
Within the scheme, the young people take part in a range of activities including a residential activities centre, team-building exercises and organising a charity event for the local community.
