EMPLOYEES of Wilkinsons in Kidderminster have raised some much-needed dough for the Midlands Air Ambulance with a charity cake sale.

They baked a variety of sweet treats and invited customers to enjoy them in return for a small donation, raising £143 for the cause.

Joanne Gooch, store manager, of the Market Street store, said: “Our team members really outdid themselves with their baking expertise and the cakes went down a storm with customers.

“This event is just one example of how we work to maintain a strong relationship with the local community, in addition to raising funds for this invaluable charity. We hope our support for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity will help it to continue to provide potentially lifesaving care.”

Sarah Arnold, corporate fund-raising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Fund-raising such as this from Wilko in Kidderminster is essential to enable us to continue providing effective emergency response to people across the Midlands.

“The team at Wilko has done an amazing job on the cake sale and we’re looking forward to seeing what they have in store for the coming year.”
