BEWDLEY’S local produce market will be welcoming three new stallholders this weekend.
Kyre Kitchens will be bringing a range of fish and game smoked over applewood, while Nigel Craige, The Pie Creator from Stourport, has a rangeofporkpies, scotch eggs and other locally-made delights.
Bethan Potts will also be making her first appearance with homemade soups, fruit pies, pickles and chutneys, during the market in Load Street tomorrow.
The market, which started in August 2011, is held on the first Sunday of the month from April through to December and focuses on local food as part of a wider initiative to encourage people to grow and buy local quality food.
Most of the stallholders are based within 10 miles of Bewdley and they offer a wide range of local meat, vegetables, cakes, preserves, drinks and hot food.
The Bewdley Development Trust, which organises the market said holding it in its traditional location in Load Street has proven popular with local people and visitors, bringing added interest and vibrancyto the town centre.
Peter Miller, of the trust, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer new stallholders a pitch at the market and the upturn in interest in attending the market augurs well the future.
“We are always looking for opportunities to develop the range ofqualitylocal foodand would ask anybody interested to get in touch with us.”
