A KIDDERMINSTER-based renewable energy specialist has earned a national title.

Eco2Solar was named National Solar PV Installer of the Year 2013 at this year’s Energy Efficiency and Renewables Awards.

The awards, organised by Energy Efficiency Exhibitions at the Ricoh Arena, recognise the achievements of energy-efficiency professionals across the UK.

Eco2Solar came out on top for their solar installations work and contribution to the community and local charities.

Paul Hutchens, managing director, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the hard work and dedication of the Eco2Solar team has, once again, been recognised at a national level.

“This is testament to our success as a progressive business and is great for our team to gain the praise it deserves from industry professionals. This serves to reinforce our strong business values going forward.”

Judges of this year’s awards included industry experts from B&ES, Greenheat, HHIC, Wolseley, BEAMA, BRE Global and Renewable Energy Installer magazine.

A spokesman for the judges added: “Eco2Solar is a business with clear goals and with an ethical commitment to its staff and to charity above and beyond its competitors.”

The ceremony was hosted by The Apprentice and Countdown’s Nick Hewer, with entertainment by comedian Jimmy Carr.

Eco2Solar’s latest success follows other award wins this year, including the IoD (Institute of Directors) West Midlands Environmental Award, Midlands Entrepreneur of the Year at the Midlands Business Awards and National SME Construction Company of the Year at the National Constructing Excellence Awards.
