Kitty gets the chop for Cancer Research

A TEENAGE girl has raised more than £1,000 for a cause close to her heart after chopping off her long hair.
Thirteen-year-old Kitty Proctor, of Bewdley, cut off 36 inches of her hair for Cancer Research in memoryof her great-auntJanice Proctor, who recently died from thedisease.
The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre pupil raised more than £1,300 and will also be donating her locks to charity to make a wig for a child suffering hair lossdue to cancer.
Her mum Sheree Jenkins said: “I'm so proud of her for doing this and we are grateful to everyone who has donated. We never in a million years thought she wouldraise thismuch.”
She added Kitty’s ponytail, which was cut off at the Duce and Romao hair salon, Bewdley, had already been sent off to wig makers
