Man, 54, admitted indecently assaulting girl, 15

A 54-year-old man admitted indecently assaulting a 15-year-old girl after being given a price list for her favours, Worcester Crown Court was told.
The case came to light after police discovered letters from the girl at the place where Malcolm Edwards was working, said Denis Desmond, prosecuting.
Edwards, of Sebright Road, Wolverley, described as a man of good character, immediately went to police and made a full confession, said his barrister, Martin Butterworth.
He was jailed for 18 months by Judge Patrick Thomas QC, who said he had taken advantage of the girl for his own sexual gratification. Edwards has to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
Mr Desmond said the girl had offered a kiss for 50p, massage for £2 and intercourse for £4. There was no evidence that penetrative sex had taken place. The girl was willing and had not been forced.
Mr Butterworth said Edwards had lost his job and his reputation as a hard-working man. His shame for his actions was genuine.
But the judge said it appeared that the girl had not been traumatised. He had reduced the sentence because of Edwards's frankness and his courage in accepting what he had done.
But there was an element of corruption in that Edwards appeared to have paid her for sexual favours. She was a vulnerable victim and had been used for his sexual satisfaction.
