7:40am Tuesday 15th October 2013 in Local
PARENTS and students in Kidderminster will have the opportunity to find out about the financial support available for going to university at Kidderminster College today.
The nationwide Student Finance Tour is part of Make Your Future Happen: Discover Higher Education week, which aims to promote the value of higher education and encourage people from all backgrounds and ages to consider it.
The tour, in its third year, is run by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and gives students and their parents the facts about student finance.
It sees recent graduates talking about their experiences of higher education and providing prospective students with essential student finance information to illustrate that university can work for anyone.
David Willetts, minister for universities, said: “This week is Make Your Future Happen week and 90 Student Finance Tour events will be taking place across England, informing students and their parents about the financial support the Government provides to help them study at university.
"I hope that the week and the tour will encourage people from all walks of life think about what higher education could do for them.”
Graham Robinson, who will be delivering the event at Kidderminster College, said: “The tour and the week highlight the support on offer for people who want to study in higher education and the benefits that it can bring.
"As a recent graduate, it’s great to come to Kidderminster College today and share my experiences. I hope this will encourage more people to consider higher education.”
