Shuttle's Terry in the news
A SHUTTLE ‘paper boy’ who has undergone three kidney transplants has raised nearly £10,500 for two charities.
At the beginning of 2012, Terry Wilson, of Kidderminster, set out to raise funds through the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, where he was last year’s Provincial Grand Primo, for Kidney Research UK and the Kidney Patients Association.
Mr Wilson, a distributor of The Shuttle for more than 15 years, raised £10,400 during his year in office and has donated £7,400 to Kidney Research UK and £3,000 to the association.
Members of the Buffaloes supported Mr Wilson with a garden party, auction, race night and musical evening with choir Vocal Score.
Wife Lynne and their children, Lucie, Annabel and Ben, helped arrange outdoor events, quizzes, a barn dance and an ‘Olympics’ games evening to add to the fund-raising tally.
Mr Wilson said he wished to “thank those who gave their time freely” to help his charities.
