AN EIGHT-year-old boy was in a “serious but stable condition” following a collision with a van while riding a scooter in Kidderminster.
The incident happened at 2.10pm yesterday in Queen Elizabeth Road, at the junction with Biset Avenue, and involved a Ford Transit van.
The boy was riding the scooter along Biset Avenue and collided with the van at the turning on to Queen Elizabeth Road. He was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital by air ambulance and his condition was described as serious but stable.
He had a fractured pelvis and broken leg. The van driver was uninjured and was spoken to by West Mercia Police officers.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the child was treated for a cut to his head at the scene before being taken to hospital. An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance attended.
Anyone with information should call 101 and ask for Sgt Steve Hastie.
