A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she was hit on the head with a chair that had been thrown at a Bewdley pub.

The incident happened at The George Hotel in Load Street on Friday, December 20 at 11.45pm.

The woman was sat in the outside area of the pub when someone behind her threw a chair, hitting her on the top of her head.

PC Steve Thomas said: “Unfortunately, there is no description at this stage of the person who threw the chair, but the pub was very busy at the time and we are sure someone must have seen who did it.

“While it is not believed that whoever threw the chair intended to injure the woman, it was an irresponsible and reckless action which has resulted in a nasty cut to the victim’s head.

“We would urge anyone who was in the pub at the time and saw what happened to call us on 101 quoting reference 22DD/78716K/13.”
