A TEAM of young people looking to improve their chances of getting a job have shared their experiences with an experienced Kidderminster Harriers player.

The 16 to 25-year-old Prince's Trust team programme students, who attend Worcester College of Technology, in Worcester, have spent 12 weeks fundraising and taking part in community projects in Kidderminster.

One of the most recent activities saw youngsters help renovate the compost and conservation area at Franche Community Primary School, in Chestnut Grove.

The project made it easier for the children to recycle materials and transformed the conservation area into an outdoor classroom so pupils could learn about different plants and animals. Throughout the 12 weeks, the team also did their own fundraising for the scheme.

Last month, the students delivered their final team presentation at Aggborough, home of the Harriers, to an audience of friends, family and special guests to share their experiences and achievements.

Harriers defender Josh Gowling handed out presentation packs and certificates to the Prince's Trust participants at the end of their presentation.

The aim of the course is to get young people aged between 16 and 25 who are not in education or employment back into either and help them discover new career paths or reapply to college courses suitable for them.

It offers work experience, qualifications, practical skills and community projects.
