A MAN appeared before magistrates charged with burgling a pizza shop in Bewdley and other offences including possession of an illegal drug.
The burglary at the Pizza Parlour in Load Street happened on Saturday afternoon and Matthew Homer, 31, of Springhill Rise, Bewdley, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court charged with breaking in and stealing cheese and meat worth £80. He was arrested the same day as the offence.
Homer was also charged with being in possession of a Class B drug, mephedrone (MCAT) and making off without payment of an £11.40 taxi fare in Bewdley, also on Saturday.
He denied all the offences and the case was adjourned for trial at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on April 22.
Homer was released by the court on bail until then with conditions including one preventing him from entering the Pizza Parlour.
