PEOPLE aged 50 and over in Wyre Forest are being offered the chance to have their voices heard on a range of issues.

Age UK Wyre Forest is helping develop a new and independent Later Life Forum in the district, with support from Worcestershire County Council.

One of the aims of the forum is to find out what people in later life think about local and county-wide services and encourage them to come up with new ideas about how communities can work together more effectively to improve things.

The forum will be independent and seek to influence decision makers on matters that impact on everyday lives. It is intended to be democratic and inclusive, deciding its own agenda, sharing information and raising issues that concern people in later life.

It could also campaign on key issues, have social activities, run trips and hold open meetings.

An open meeting is being held on Wednesday, April 16 at Age UK Wyre Forest, Castle Road, Kidderminster, from 10am until 12.30pm. Light Refreshments will be available on arrival and a sandwich lunch is provided.
