A MEMORIAL service will be held for a former Bewdley Mayor who was awarded an MBE.
The service for Dizzie Moore, who died aged 88 on Thursday, March 20 at her home in Haslemere in Surrey, will be held at St Anne's Church, in Load Street, in Bewdley on Tuesday, April 8 at 1pm.
Mrs Moore lived in Wyre Forest for thirty years and was twice mayor of Bewdley.
She was also a tireless community worker and was a prominent member of the Bewdley Festival committee as well as being chairman of the Bewdley women's section of the Royal British Legion and a member of the town's Rotary Club.
She was awarded her MBE in 2002 for her services to Bewdley and Haslemere, where she became the town's first lady rotarian.
Mrs Moore, who has three children and six grandchildren, served with the Royal Navy in the far East during the Second World War.
After her service, attendees are invited to St George's Hall in Bewdley.
