ABOUT £12,000 worth of gardening items have been stolen during a burglary near Shatterford.

The incident happened at an outbuilding off the main A442 Bridgnorth Road between 5pm yesterday and 6.30am today.

Offenders drove across a field and smashed through a wooden fence to gain access to the property and then broke off a padlock to get into the barn.

A large amount of garden machinery and tools were stolen, including a Westwood V20/50 tractor mower with a brand new grass box, a Ryobi log splitter, a Hayter lawn mower, an Echo blower, an Echo chainsaw, an Echo hedge trimmer and other general gardening items.

The offenders are likely to have been using a van or similar vehicle large enough to get the tractor mower and other items in.
