A WOMAN has been arrested and charged by police investigating more than 20 incidents at Stourport where property was stolen from cars or vehicles were entered and searched.

The 32-year-old woman was arrested in Kidderminster yesterday and was charged last night with four offences of theft from motor vehicles.

The charges allege she stole two mobile phones, two sat navs and three debit cards from the cars which were parked in Kings Arms Lane, Hillside Close, Thirlmere Road and Berkeley Crescent between Saturday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 30.

The woman was released on police bail to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 29.

Officers investigating a series of offences in Stourport from April 14 onwards involving cars being searched or having property stolen from them arrested a 24-year-old man on Wednesday on suspicion of theft but he has now had his bail cancelled and no further action will be taken against him.

Most of the incidents being investigated involved cars which had been left unlocked and police have renewed an appeal for owners to check their vehicles are secure when left unattended and to remove all valuables.

Property including sat-navs and other electrical items which were stolen from some of them may have been dumped in the area. Anyone finding items like these should hand them in at their nearest police station quoting incident 116-S-300414.
