GOLFERS will be getting into the swing of things to raise funds for cancer charities.

The event, hosted by businesswoman Angela Gaskell, of Kidderminster, will take place at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club on Friday, June 13.

Mrs Gaskell is a serial-fundraiser and established The Rainbow Cancer Care Foundation to support local cancer care organisations.

She hopes to raise funds and awareness of the work Macmillan Cancer Support and other cancer charities do in the local community.

Mrs Gaskell said: "After losing my mum to cancer in 2009, I realised that cancer touches many families and lives, and hopefully our fundraising can help the research for a cure and fund the wonderful Macmillan nurses that do a fantastic job, not only with care but also help families organise their finances at a very difficult time."

All the money raised will be donated to help Macmillan Cancer Support and other cancer care charities. These services include information and counselling centres, specialist medical staff and grants for people with cancer who are in financial difficulty.
