A COUPLE have raised more than £1000 for the daughters of Louise Evans, a Kidderminster woman who was killed in July 2012, after taking part in last weekend’s Great Midland’s Fun Run.

Emma, 32, and Alec Stewart, 35, were hoping to raise £600 through their fundraising efforts at the eight and a half mile event on Sunday.

Mrs Stewart said: “Alec went to Wolverley High School with Louise and we are part of a group of Louise’s friends who raise money to go toward the care of her three children.

“We wanted to raise as much as we can for them as they have been left with nothing, so we set a target of £200 for each of her daughters.

“We’re very grateful for the donations that are we are still receiving - it was a great day and we can't wait to give the money to the girls.”

Mrs Stewart takes part in the fun run every year, but this time she also signed her husband up for the race.

“I run quite a lot but Alec doesn’t run at all so his goal was to train for this and to run it with me,” she said.

“As he’s found it so tough to train, we decided to raise some money for Louise’s daughters too.”

The fundraising group Mrs and Mr Stewart are part of hosted a remembrance night for friends and family of Louise at Aggborough Stadium in November 2013.

The group were able to raise £3000 on that night in aid of Louise’s daughters who have been left in the care of their grandparents.

Mrs Stewart added: “Louise’s friends and family will continue to fundraise for her daughters in order to keep her memory alive.”
