PREPERATIONS are being stepped up at a Kidderminster school for an annual summer fair.

Staff, youngsters and parents at Holy Trinity International School, Birmingham Road, are really busy getting ready for this year’s parents’ association (PA) traditional summer fair.

The event will raise money for Kemp Hospice and will celebrate the school’s switch to becoming a Holy Trinity Free School from September. The family fun day takes place at the school on Saturday, June 21, from 12.30pm.

Attractions on the day will include a “grand PA raffle” which will feature a £150 cash prize, a family ticket to the West Midland Safari Park in Bewdley, a family ticket and two adult tickets to have a ride on the Severn Valley Railway and Hatton Adventure Farm tickets.

Prizes will also include a three course meal at the Running Horse, a meal for two at the Station Inn, a £25 gift voucher for Pomodoro Restaurant, meal for four at the Academy at Kidderminster, a bottle hamper, a luxury food hamper, LaserQuest tickets and a family pass for the Hartlebury Museum.

As well as the raffle there will be a barbecue, ice creams and a stall selling homemade cakes. This year’s chosen summer fair charity is Kemp Hospice’s Kemp for Kids, which offers specialist care and support to patients, families and carers dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement.

The aim of Kemp Hospice is to help families maintain their independence by supporting them to adapt to changing abilities, so they can live their lives to the full for as long as possible.

PA chairman Michelle Howles said: “This year, the fair will kick off in spectacular style with Batman opening the event, followed by a falconry display and wrestling matches in the arena.

“Once again, the number of local stallholders attending our fair has increased and this, along with a large number of new stalls being run by the PA, will make the fair fun for young and old.”

“It is sure to be a fantastic afternoon.”

Fair organisers are hoping to capitalise on the success of previous years which have been well attended.
