Kidderminster Shuttle: Parents encouraged to ditch the dummies Parents encouraged to ditch the dummies

PARENTS are being encouraged to exchange their child’s bottle or dummies for a toothbrush and toothpaste in a scheme by 10:32@Tree Tops children’s centre in Kidderminster.

The centre, which is run by a consortium of partners, including the national children’s charity Barnardo’s, on behalf of Worcestershire County Council, is holding the exchange event today (July 2) between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Mobile dentists will be on hand to give your child’s teeth a friendly check up and information about dental health and dentists in your area will be available.

There will also be a colouring competition with a prize for the best decorated toothbrush.

For more information contact Terri or Ruth on 01299 409169.

how does having a baby bottle be bad for teeth? Yes if it full of juice but then that is also the case with juice generally although i can see the case for bottles encouraging prolonged contact of the juice with the teeth. But this surely puts out the message that a bottle of milk is bad? My daughter is 2 and still loves a bottle of milk at bedtime, I can see no damage to her teeth from it and it certainly doesn't mean that she doesn't brush her teeth?
