A REPORT of a serious assault in Stourport involving a 51-year-old woman is being investigated by West Mercia Police.

The incident took place on Tuesday between 1.15pm and 1.30pm on or near the footpath which runs alongside the River Severn from Stourport Boat Club to Redstone Caravan Park.

A 75-year-old man and a 61-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the offence.

Detective Inspector Callie Bradley, of West Mercia Police, said: “This area of footpath is popular with walkers and we are keen to speak to anyone who was along the stretch next to the boat club, rugby and football club and caravan park around the time of the incident or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously.”
