A FAMILY fun day will be held at the Running Horse Inn in Long Bank, Bewdley in support of children with heart conditions.

The event, on bank holiday Monday, August 25, will feature live music, face painting, makeovers, a balloon artist and fun games and will raise money for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Mascots Micky Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Hello Kitty will be present to entertain younger visitors while adults can browse the organic skincare, candle and Ann Summers stalls.

There will also be table-top sales run by Kemp Hospice and the Forest Dog Rescue starting at 11am and a raffle and tombola including prizes donated by Tesco and other local companies.

Marie Heenan, team member at the Running Horse Inn, said: “It will be lots of fun for all the family.

“We are aiming for everybody to have a blast and hope to raise £5,000 for a great cause at the same time.”

CRY was chosen to receive the funds raised by Sarah Williams, deputy manager at The Running Horse Inn, because she lost a young relative to heart problems.

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions and CRY was set up in 1995 to work to reduce the frequency of these sudden cardiac deaths.

The free event runs from noon to 6pm, with live music continuing in the evening.
