KIDDERMINSTER Harriers stars left their football boots in the lockers and picked up their golf clubs to join in a day out on the course with fans and local businesspeople.

A total of 48 people took part in the Kidderminster Harriers Golf Day, which raised £1,000 for the club.

The winners were a team representing Forward Industrial Products Group - made up of Harriers chairman Ken Rae, striker Michael Gash and father and son Bob and Andy Mullinex.

The foursome came home with 93 Stableford points to claim the honour, each winning golf shirts.

Each team entering the competition, held at Ombersley Golf Club, was allocated a Harriers player.

Prizes were presented by Harriers' captain Kyle Storer, with the Hire It (Kidderminster) team claiming second place, with 91 points, ahead of third-placed Oakleaf Commercial Services on a count back.

The event was organised by the Friends of the Harriers, with the fundraising boosted by an auction after the presentation dinner.

Mark Searl, organiser and chairman of the Friends, said: "The weather was kind to us and everybody enjoyed themselves."
