CHADDESLEY Corbett will be partying to the sounds of live music today.

The Music In The Meadow event takes place this evening at Brockencote Hall from 7.30pm and promises “first-class entertainment, good food and great company in an idyllic setting”.

Gates open at 5pm and concert-goers are encouraged to bring their own chairs and a picnic.

Among the acts will be Welsh singer and songwriter Deborah Rose, whose voice has been described by folk legend Judy Collins as "one of the finest I've ever heard".

Remi Harris, hailed as "one of the finest gypsy jazz guitarists in the country" will also be on stage, as will pianist and singer Sara Colman, who performs her own interpretation of classic and original songs.

Wooden Horse Country Blues, who supported Joan Armatrading on her 2014 UK tour, will play their trademark country blues and rattling slide numbers.

Gerry Colvin, co-founder of the 1980s "skiffle-cowpunk indie" outfit Terry and Gerry, will also make an appearance.

The band was a favourite of the legendary DJ John Peel and featured on shows including The Tube and The Old Grey Whistle Test.

Entrance to Music In The Meadow costs £22 and plenty of car parking spaces are available.
