WYRE Forest libraries are hosting various courses this autumn for people who would like to learn a new skill or craft.

Kidderminster Library has class space available in various subjects including sketching, sewing and quilting, writing fiction for children, introduction to counselling and supporting your child through SATs.

Stourport Library has availability in its family history, emergency first aid at work and jewellery making workshop classes.

The courses are part of Worcestershire County Council’s Adult Learning Programme and its new Leisure Programme.

County councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for localism and communities, said: “We have been really pleased with the response to our courses this time round.

“Many of them are already fully booked and the new leisure programme has been really well received.

“By offering both our adult learning programme and new leisure programme we hope to inspire new learners and provide more opportunities for everyone to take part.”
