A 34-YEAR-OLD man has been cleared of breaking a man's leg outside a Worcestershire pub as he tried to stop him drink-driving.
Scott Griffin, of Whittall Drive East, Birchen Coppice, Kidderminster, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Paul Langford following the incident outside the Bay Horse Inn, in Hartlebury Road, Stourport.
On Monday, October 13, Worcester Crown Court heard Mr Langford, a stockbroker, had been drinking on March 31 last year. He went out to the car park and Mr Griffin, who did not know Mr Langford but was outside smoking a cigarette, joined in with a group who tried to stop him getting into his Mercedes car.
As they tried to take his keys, Mr Langford fell and broke his ankle, the court was told.
A jury took 40 minutes to find Mr Griffin not guilty.
