A LOCAL author has had his story selected for inclusion in a ghost story collection from publisher Alfie Dog Fiction.

‘The Day Death Wore Boots’ collection brings together ghost stories from 20 authors across the globe, including Alan Cadman’s story ‘Spanish Midnight’.

Mr Cadman, of Cookley, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 14 years ago. He took up creative writing as a hobby and continues to write when he can.

He said “I enjoy writing stories. It is always an added bonus if someone enjoys reading them.”

In 2011 Mr Cadman became a prize winner for flash fiction. He also won first prize, of £100, in a poetry competition in 2013.

His work has been read out on Internet radio and his stories are published in hard copy magazines and e-zines.

The ghost story collection includes authors from America, Australia and the United Kingdom and includes stories in both a modern and historical setting and draws from fascinating and mysterious cultures.

Rosemary Kind, Managing Director of Alfie Dog Fiction, said: “We have sought to bring together a collection of stories which will leave the reader considering where reality ends and fiction begins.”

The collection will be available as download and in paperback from October 16 with the download priced from just £1.99 and can be bought directly through www.alfiedog.com or though Amazon and other leading online retailers and bookstores.
