A LOCAL contemporary choir sang their hearts out last week to raise money for BBC’s Children in Need appeal.
The choir Got 2 Sing, with members from Bewdley and Kidderminster, sang in Birmingham on Friday, November 14, and raised over £270 for the appeal.
The choir members entertained visitors at Birmingham’s German Christmas Market on Friday evening, but the singing started well before their arrival at the Christmas attraction with fellow travellers sharing the train into the city were treated to festive renditions of ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree’ and ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ by the choir.
Generous passers-by delved deep into their pockets as the choir sang out other festive tunes.
Beth Dunn, founder and director of Got 2 Sing, said: “There was no way we were going to miss such a fantastic opportunity on Friday.
“We were delighted that we raised just under £300 for such a deserving cause too.
“I’d like to thank everyone who gave generously. It was an amazing evening.”
