THE Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust has announced a joint initiative with Kidderminster Harriers Football Club to support members of the local community who have fallen upon hard times this Christmas.

The Kidderminster Foodbank support those who have been identified by Care Professionals as ‘in crisis’ and are issued with a Foodbank voucher which can be exchanged for three days’ supply of emergency food.

On Saturday, December 20, KHIST are arranging collection points at the turnstiles to receive donations for this very worthy cause. If you can spare anything from the shopping list, which includes tinned ham and Christmas cake, they are asking you to donate it on Saturday.

Geoff Coles, chairman of KHIST, said: “We all sometimes take for granted that we will invariably eat well at Christmas. It is a privilege to be part of this joint initiative with the Club to take a moment to consider those in our community who are in crisis.

“The supporters of Kidderminster Harriers FC have demonstrated their generosity many times in the past and I do hope that they will be able to make a donation on Saturday.”

Ken Rae, chairman of KHFC, said: “In getting involved with KHIST in this initiative, we wanted to do everything we could to support our local community and assist those who are less fortunate than ourselves so that they may also enjoy Christmas.”
