MEMBERS of Stourport Camera Club are focusing on another successful year after celebrating their 2014 achievements.

Gathering at their annual AGM, the group, which meets every Thursday night at 7.45pm, in The Old School Room, Parkes Passage, looked back on their year but also set about planning their programme for 2015.

Philip Williamson, committee member, said: “The club programme secretary has worked hard to produce another programme full of interest with club competitions and more than 15 cups and trophies up for grabs.

“We will also have ten of the midlands top photographers coming in to give lectures, and five external competitions are due against other Worcestershire clubs.”

The club was formed during the 1950s and currently boasts 40 members, both ladies and gentlemen with a range of experience from professionals to beginners - looking to develop.

Each month the club runs a competition, alternating between prints and digital projected images, open to all members and judged by an outside, independent judge.

Mr Williamson added: “Stourport Camera Club hold many evenings designed to help our photographers of all abilities, both young and old.

“Everything we offer to our members is designed to help them enjoy and improve their work with this fascinating hobby.”
