A PLEA by a Kidderminster based charity for help in finding a car for their newly appointed family liaison officer was answered within minutes.
Forces Support published their plea on Facebook on Monday, January 5, which was answered within minutes by contract car and van hire company C.J. Tafft.
The company gave the charity a new white Citroen C1 for 18 months free of charge for their family liaison officer, Caronne McBridge who will use it to travel up and down the country visiting the families of the fallen, assessing the work to be done and following up on projects
Bill McCance, CEO of Forces Support, said: “We were overwhelmed and could hardly believe our ears when the offer was made, our fundraiser Sian had literally only just posted our plea and we didn’t expect to get a response if I’m honest.
“We are very grateful, as a small unfunded organisation this really does make a big difference to us.”
Kevin Tafft, director and owner of C.J. Tafft, said: “We are proud to be able to support such a worthwhile cause, these families deserve all the support we as a country can offer them in their time of need.”
Forces Support, which is the only one of its kind in the UK, provides practical support to bereaved military families by creating children’s play areas, gardening and decorating and more recently, Remembrance areas.
The charity recently created a playroom and garden play area for the son of Lee Rigby, Jack, just in time for his fourth birthday.
