AN elegant visitor graced the tracks of the Severn Valley Railway as part of the attractions Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The epitome of luxury heritage train travel, the distinctive Belmond British Pullman, brought a touch of glamour to the SVR as it made an express visit last weekend.

The carriages were hauled along the Kidderminster to Bridgnorth line by the Taw Valley, on Saturday, May 16, which was also the locomotive’s first trip along the line following an extensive restoration.

The Belmond British Pullman was a much admired sight on famous 1920s rail services and many of its individually-named carriages have been used extensively by the Royal Family.

The one-off visit saw the distinctive train travel from London Victoria to the SVR to celebrate the railway’s 50th anniversary.

A range of events to celebrate the much-loved attractions golden year include a Sound of the ‘60s celebration in August.
