A DEDICATED air ambulance volunteer from Stourport has been named in The Independent on Sunday’s Happy List 2015.

Lynne Beckett made the list, which celebrates inspirational people whose kindness makes Britain a better place to live, thanks to her tireless fundraising efforts for Midlands Air Ambulance.

The Stourport resident was nominated by the charity after being named eBay’s top individual charity seller in the UK, having reached a milestone £100,000 for the service earlier this year.

Lynne and her husband Tim were recently invited to a special evening in London where the 100 people named in the Happy List were treated to a drinks and canapé reception, giving them a chance to mingle and learn about each other’s inspirational stories.

She said: “I was honoured to be named in The Independent on Sunday’s Happy List 2015.To be listed alongside a number of truly wonderful people was overwhelming as I just do this to help Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

“I really couldn’t have achieved the £100,000 fundraising milestone without the support from my family and those who purchase from my eBay site. It’s been a real team effort, so this accolade is them too.”

Alison Hill, volunteer manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “The fact that Lynne’s efforts have deservingly been recognised by both eBay and The Independent’s Happy List, proves what an incredible asset she is to the charity.

“She and her family have helped fund dozens of life saving air ambulance missions in the Midlands, and we can’t thank her enough for her continued support.”
