THIEVES were interrupted when a victim returned to their home in Belbroughton Road, Blakedown.
The victim returned home to find the culprits inside at around 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, November 25). The victim ran out of the house and phoned the police.
West Mercia Police officers conducted an extensive search for the offenders, but no arrests have been made at this time.
The victim was unharmed but shaken.
The unknown offenders had gained access by forcing open a window and door at the rear of the property in Belbroughton Road. Before being distrubed, the offenders had conducted a tidy search of an attic bedroom.
They fled the property by an upstairs rear window and the rear garden which backs onto a field.
Kidderminster East Safer Neighbourhood Team want to reassure all residents that very rarely burglars take chances of committing crime when there's even a remote possibility of someone walking in and finding them.
A spokesman said: "Please be assured that we take what has happened incredibly seriously and that burglary is and will remain the number one priority of West Mercia Police.
"The team patrol the area everyday and response officers based at Kidderminster patrol our areas and respond to incidents 24/7. As expected, within minutes of this incident being reported officers literally swamped the area."
If you see anything suspicious, you can report it to West Mercia Police by calling 101 or in an emergency, 999.
