TWO Kidderminster school teachers are celebrating after clocking up 50 years’ service in Worcestershire between them.

Pauline Lowe and Caroline Hobbs, who teach at Baxter College, both started their careers in the county in 1990.

Art teacher Pauline Lowe started in Worcestershire as a probationary teacher in 1990 at Lodge Farm School in Redditch.

She then gained promotion to Sion Hill Middle School in Kidderminster in 2002 before the Wyre Forest reorganisation led her to become Head of Art at Baxter College in 2007.

Food Technologist Caroline Hobbs began her Worcestershire career at Bewdley High School in 1990 before moving to Baxter, when it was known as the Harry Cheshire High School, in 1994 where she has given sterling service for over twenty years.

Caroline said: “A sign of the times then was I had the title of teacher of Home Economics/Food and Nutrition but now I am a Food Technologist!”

Their achievement was recognised by the whole staff at Baxter College when they were presented with gifts and bubbly to mark their outstanding milestone.

Principal Dave Seddon said: “Both are outstanding members of the teaching profession who must have inspired thousands of children, over the years.”
