A KIND-hearted Stourport girl will go to great lengths to help children who have lost their hair following cancer treatment.

Eight-year-old Amber Mound will have her long hair cut off at a charity fundraising gala at West Midland Safari Park on Sunday evening (May 1) to raise money for the Little Princess Trust.

Amber will also be dancing at the event as part of Zennor's Dance and Musical Theatre Academy.

Amber's mother, Debbie Mound, said: "I talked to Amber about what the fundraising event was for and explained the charity makes wigs for children who lose their hair.

"She understands that chemotherapy makes hair fall out as her grandmother passed away five years ago from the disease.

"She was keen to do something to help the children with cancer feel special again.

"Amber is a naturally kind-hearted little girl who loves helping people. A true gem - it was all her own idea.

"I am a bit nervous about the hair coming off but how can I refuse such a kind gesture."

The gala on Sunday will be a celebration of the golden age of Hollywood, with fizz, canapes, dancing, West End performances, a silent auction, performances from Zennor's and live music.

Tickets for the event on Sunday, from 7pm, at West Midland Safari Park are £35.
