OFFICERS investigating the tragic death of Jason Westcott have charged a Stourport man.

Simon Lee Robinson, 43, of Steatite Way, was charged with causing death by careless driving on May 10, in connection with the death of the 22-year-old.

Robinson has been bailed to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 23.

Jason, who was originally from Weston-super-Mare, was discovered unconscious on the A451 Ringway in Kidderminster just after 5am on November 15, last year. He was taken to hospital with head and abdominal injuries and later died.

Following his tragic death, his parents paid a touching tribute to him on Facebook and said they were proud to call him their son.

They wrote: "We thank this world for letting you be in our life for 22 precious years and letting us have the honour of calling you son.

"You made us so proud and said such lovely, thoughtful things to us.

"The laughter and fun that you brought to us and the family whenever you walked in will surely be missed and never forgot.

"When you was a baby, we and friends would call you the little hurricane, because of the mess and devastation left in your wake.

"We still call you the hurricane but know it's for the fun, smiles, laughter and joy whenever you popped in, mum & me on edge if you was going to jump out on us.

"We can’t put into words the pain we are in. We will never ever forget you and that lovely smile, we will be thinking of you every day. LOVE YOU ALWAYS. A very proud Mum & Dad xxxx"
