POLICE and Crime Commissioner John Campion has appointed his new team of Community Ambassadors to deliver for residents in Worcestershire.

Following the appointment of his Deputy PCC, Tracey Onslow, the Wyre Forest District Councillor has appointed Melanie Baker as Ambassador for Worcestershire.

The role will engage with local communities and ensure their priorities are understood, their needs are being met and their concerns are being acted on.

Mr Campion said: "I made a promise that I would be visible and accessible to people right across what is a very large policing area.

"These appointments will help me understand local priorities and engage with as many people as possible from different areas and backgrounds, whilst delivering better value for public money.

"By re-shaping the structure of my team, I have saved £40,000 which will now go back directly into local communities via a new ambassador’s fund."

Anyone can contact their local ambassador to bring issues around crime, safety or policing to the West Mercia Police commissioner’s attention.

Councillor Baker is currently a District Councillor on the Malvern Hills District Council and represents the community in Chase Ward.

Residents of Worcestershire can contact her by calling 07976 948 871 or emailing melaniebaker@caworcs.co.uk.
