WEST Midland Safari Park is set to get spooky at as it hosts two new thrilling attractions for guests during its Halloween celebrations.

The annual, month-long Spooky Spectacular festival at the Bewdley attraction starts on October 1 and will include a new, spine-tingling adventure named 'Dino Quest'.

Daring explorers will have to make their way around the Land of the Living Dinosaurs exhibit, searching for the missing dinosaur. However, they must find it before the Mad Scientist, who is also on the hunt to capture the dinosaur for one of their experiments.

The only help the brave explorers will receive is clues from the interesting characters they meet along the way and they will only have a torchlight to guide them.

Also new for this year, is 'Chaos at Crocular Castle', an immersive puppet show where families can meet an arra of creepy critters and help to save the 'beautiful princess'.

Laura Henson, park events officer, said: "Our Spooky Spectacular event opens to visitors on October 1 and runs all the way through to Halloween.

"Moving into its seventh year we have new and exciting attractions to offer everyone. From late night rides, to themed shows and spooky trails, we have it all."

She added: "New for 2016 is our hair-raising 'Dino Quest' and our family friendly puppet show where guests will encounter characters such as Count Crocular, Minion Monster and Princess Scary-Fairy.

"The park will also be themed with 1,700 pumpkins and more than 100 scarecrows - all of which will be eerily illuminated after dark."

As well as the new attractions, there will be competitions, themed live shows and animal encounters - including 'Dr Franken-Sea-Lion Strikes Again' and 'Creepy Critters Encounter'.

There will also be a children's activity booklet, filled with games, puzzles and a scarecrow trail.

Park opening hours will be extended until 9pm on weekends, October half-term holiday and Halloween - and as the daylight fades, the creepiest of spooks will start to appear.

Visitors are also encouraged to dress up to take part in the Halloween fun.
