CUBS in Kidderminster continued to mark their centenary year with a circus-themed celebration.

Kidderminster Cub Scouts had a weekend camp at Rhydd covert on September 17 and 18 as part of the organisation’s 100th birthday celebrations throughout 2016.

The youngsters took part in a host of activities such as circus skills organised by Splats and drumming workshops arranged by Rhymnicity.

Each pack also designed and built circus side stalls. Trophies were awarded for circus costumes and floats.

Rachel Setchell, from ADC Cub Scouts (Kidderminster District) said: “The cubs had a great time. The evening was spent having fun at the stalls before team bases on Sunday.

“Other events held this year have included a week in Guernsey where Cub scouts alongside Scouts and explorers enjoyed sea kayaking, coasteering and stand up paddle boarding.

“In December we are having a sleepover in the 360 degree tunnel at the Birmingham seal life centre.”

She added plans have already been made to take cub scouts to France next year for a week with Acorn adventure.
